🔥 The Path of the Soulless
Not everyone who plunges their Wyldheart into chaos simply loses control of their magic. Some lose it entirely.
When a being becomes fully alienated from themselves, or their Wyldheart is too corrupted, it can withdraw, close off, or even extinguish completely.
A Soulless is someone who no longer has access to their magic — not because they lack skill, but because their Magic denies them access to the Source or the Source - the Wyldheart no longer exists.
How Does One Become Soulless?
Years of self-denial: Those who continually force themselves to live against their deepest truths gradually lose connection to their magic. It weakens until it ceases to exist.
Complete self-doubt: If someone sinks so deep into hopelessness that they no longer recognize their own existence or worth, their Wyldheart slowly dies — not as punishment, but because there is nothing left for it to hold onto.
Corrupted magic: Those who misuse their magic over years, acting against their essence, can distort their Wyldheart so severely that it destroys itself to prevent further abuse.
External influence: Legends speak of beings or rituals capable of stealing or fully sealing a Wyldheart. Those affected lose not only their magic but a part of their identity.
Example: The purging rituals of the Vorr’kael Order are said to seal away Wyldhearts to protect the world from corruption.
What Happens to the Soulless?
🔸 No access to magic: Even immense effort cannot restore their magic.
🔸 Emotional emptiness: Many Soulless report feeling hollow, as though a part of themselves has been lost.
🔸 Difficulty sensing identity: Some lose touch with who they were, what they wanted, or even their memories.
🔸 Inability to awaken new magic: While those with unstable or twisted magic can recover through inner work, a fully closed Wyldheart is often lost forever.
Is There a Way Back?
Most Soulless remain without magic, their Wyldheart unreachable. Yet, rare cases of reawakening exist:
🌿 Through deep inner healing: Legends tell of those who ventured into the Sacred Wylds, slowly reconnecting with their essence, until their Wyldheart returned — weak, but alive. Few dare face their shadows, making such stories more myth than hope.
🔥 Through a powerful emotional shock: Sometimes, a profound experience — a moment reminding someone of their essence — can temporarily restore magic. Often, it is a fleeting spark unless acted upon.
🔮 Through external aid: Some believe that powerful mages or spiritual beings can reopen a sealed Wyldheart, though this remains a legendary claim.
